Friday 25 September has been declared Researchers’ Night by the European Commission. Across Sweden and all over Europe hundreds of events will show how exciting, fun and relevant to day-to-day living research actually is.
Researchers’ Night in Sweden, ForskarFredag, consists of events in eighteen cities across the country. Fun, hands-on, interactive activities as well as informal dialogues on topical issues will be offered at each event along with a variety of cultural expressions. Furthermore, children and young people are invited to take part in a European poster competition
These innovative and exciting activities will allow for public engagement and meetings with researchers in relaxed and festive environments. The events aim at showing that researchers are ordinary people with extraordinary jobs and that research is all about communication and international cooperation.
ForskarFredag is organised by universities, science centres, municipalities and a regional council. The arrangements are coordinated by Vetenskap & Allmänhet (translates Public & Science).
